8 pounder!

We had an appointment on Friday with Kelsie's pulmonologist to check in on how things have been going with her CF care. At this point, her weight gain and progress with the enzymes are the most important things to follow. And I am proud to report that she now weighs 8lbs 10oz!! So in just 2 weeks, she has gained 25 ounces which is even better than what they wanted to see. Because she had a late start gaining weight due to the malabsorption issues with CF, she has had some catching up to do...but with this amount of weight gain, the doctor and dietician were more than pleased! This is great news to us! This means the enzymes are working and she is getting enough calories from my breastmilk to gain the weight she needs. I am so thankful we don't have to supplement! We are going to go up on enzymes though...even though she is gaining weight, her stools are still showing signs of some malabsorption so they want us to try giving her a full capsule instead of half. That means there are even more beads to get her to swallow, but we're getting the hang of it.

Here's my little chunky monkey! Love seeing her put on some chub! ;)

We also went to the Orthopedic doctor Friday morning. I called them because I felt her brace was fitting too small and after taking a look, he agreed! He adjusted it 2 weeks ago, but with all this weight gain, she has just grown right out of it. So we got a new one...A CLEAN ONE!  She has an ultrasound of her hip in 2 weeks to see if the joint has tightened up and if so, we will probably get to transition to partial use of the harness. Partial use sounds awesome... but in reality, he said he would only allow us to take it off for 1-2 hours a day. While not ideal, it will still be better than it is now allowing us time to give her a real bath and wash the harness.
Heres a picture of her bright new harness, whoo hoo!
(Shes also just coming out of a state of milk intoxication haha)
